GOST 33259-2015
Since April 1, 2016, by order of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology dated May 26, 2015 No. 443-st, the interstate standard GOST 33259-2015 “FLANGES OF VALVES, CONNECTING PARTS AND PIPELINES FOR NOMINAL PRESSURE UP TO PN 250 Design, dimensions and general requirements »Put into effect as a national standard of the Russian Federation.
Prepared on the basis of GOST R 54432-2011, instead of GOST 12815-80, GOST 12816-80, GOST 12817-80, GOST 12818-80, GOST 12819-80, GOST 12820-80, GOST 12821-80, GOST 12822-80 ...
(By order of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology dated May 26, 2015 GOST R 54432-2011 was canceled from April 1, 2017).
This standard takes into account the main regulatory provisions of the following international standards: - ISO 7005-1: 2011 “Pipeline flanges. Part 1. Steel flanges for industrial and general service piping systems (NEQ)
- ISO 7005-2: 1988, Metal flanges. Part 2. Cast iron flanges "(" Metallic flanges-Part 2: Cast iron flanges ", NEQ).
GOST 33259-2015 applies to connecting flanges of pipeline fittings (hereinafter referred to as fittings), fittings and pipelines, as well as connecting flanges of machines, equipment, instruments, branch pipes, apparatuses and tanks for nominal pressure up to PN 250 and establishes the design and dimensions of steel and cast iron flanges, determines the types of flanges, types of forms of sealing surfaces, establishes technical requirements for manufacturing, marking, testing and control.
Steel flanges
Steel flanges are pipeline connecting elements, usually in the form of a disc or flat ring on which holes for bolts and studs are evenly spaced.
Structural designs and steel grades for the production of flanges are regulated by the regulatory documents of the state standard (GOST).
Steel flanges are used for a strong and tight connection of pipeline and shut-off valves, pipes, connecting them to devices and containers.
As separate parts, flanges are most often welded or screwed to the ends of the parts to be joined.
For aggressive media in pipeline systems, stainless steel flanges are used.
Flanges are of several types:
According to standards and regulations, flanges are produced in several versions: with a tenon, a groove, a ledge and a depression. This variety ensures the precision and tightness of the joint between the two elements.
According to the production method, flanges are divided into:
Stamped
Cast
Forged
Depending on the purpose of the pipeline and the working media transported through it, flanges are made of steels of various grades, including corrosion-resistant ones:
Steel 20
09G2S
17G1S
13HFA
08X18H10T
12X18H10T
Finished flanges are tested for strength, tightness, resistance to stress, external factors, and corrosion. The surface of the flanges is visually inspected for chips, cracks, dents, and mechanical damage.
Upon acceptance, the flanges undergo quality control and comply with regulatory documents.
